Four learning locations, seven project networks and over 150 associated partners - that is the Digital Learning Campus (DLC) Schleswig-Holstein. The DLC Hub is coordinating the project, which is being funded with a total of six million euros. Today, Education and Science Minister Karin Prien presented the funding certificates for the DLC Hub.
Three scientific institutions will coordinate the DLC Hub over the next five years: The European University of Flensburg (funding of €2.5 million), as lead partner, will coordinate the physical learning locations, quality assurance and DLC trainer training. The Technical University (funding of EUR 2.9 million) shall provide further development of the DLC platform, which will offer online learning opportunities as well as booking and collaboration tools at www.dlc.sh. A third partner is the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN, funding 0.6 million euros), responsible for the accompanying research. “We have succeeded in gaining three strong universities and research institutions for central management. I am sure that together they will make our digital flagship project DLC a success,” emphasized the Minister in Kiel and added:” The DLC makes sure young people are prepared for the digital world of tomorrow. It offers them uncomplicated access to the topics of digitalization, innovation and artificial intelligence. What makes it special is that it is learning across all educational institutions, in specially created spaces and with new platform technologies.”
The DLC will create new, open learning locations in Flensburg, Heide, Kiel and Lübeck in 2024, linked by a central learning and booking platform. Funding of six million euros is provided by the state's economic program and comes from the European Union's ERDF fund (40 percent) and state funds (50 percent). Each of the funded institutions is also contributing an additional 10 percent of the funding. The DLC's services are intended to be accessible and usable free of charge for all employees, entrepreneurs, school pupils and students living in Schleswig-Holstein. It includes courses and cross-educational workshops. The first launch of the central platform is planned for fall 2024.
