The influence of teachers' affective-motivational characteristics on students' learning success is undisputed. However, empirical results show differential effects and mechanisms. The TEMP project focuses on mathematics and physics teachers’ enthusiasm. The goal is to identify different facets of enthusiasm and to make them accessible for empirical measurement, in particular also using innovative machine learning methods. This is an essential basis for investigating the influence of enthusiasm on teaching, learning success, and students' enthusiasm for mathematics/physics as well as for developing support measures.
