September 18th – 20th, 2023 Educational Psychology Group convenes in Kiel
Themed: "Teaching and Learning in a Changing World", the German Psychological Society's Specialist Group on Educational Psychology will convene in Kiel from September 18th to 20th, 2023.
The Fachgruppe Pädagogische Psychologie meets biannually. This year, it will be hosted by the Institute for Educational Psychology Teaching and Learning Research (IPL) at Kiel University (CAU) and the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN). The event is the largest conference in the field of educational psychology held in Germany.
"I am pleased that more than 400 colleagues will come to Kiel and take the opportunity to exchange ideas on urgent issues of teaching and learning," says Prof. Dr. Olaf Köller, managing director of research at the IPN and co-organizer of the conference.
The keynotes, which will also be publicly broadcast via livestream, will be given by renowned international experts: Pierre Dillenbourg from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Gale M. Sinatra from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA, Manu Kapur from ETH in Zurich, and Patricia Jennings from the University of Virginia, USA. Featuring a variety of position papers, symposia and lectures, a poster session with more than 90 contributions, and a social evening in the Wunderino Arena business lounge, the conference will provide a productive exchange on issues related to teaching and learning in a changing world.
Junior researchers will come together on the weekend before the conference. The focus of the junior researchers' conference is on workshops for doctoral students and post-docs in educational psychology on publishing, paths to a professorship, balancing family and academia, acquiring third-party funding, multi-level models, and open science.
