A special award for PD Dr. Burkhard Schroeter at the 35th IBO 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan

The long-standing German delegation leader PD Dr. Burkhard Schroeter received a special honorary award at the closing ceremony of the 35th International Biology Olympiad in Astana, Kazakhstan: he was presented with the Tomás Soukup Honorary Award by the IBO Steering Committee for his services to the International Biology Olympiad. Burkhard Schroeter has been the German Head of Delegation at the IBO since 2013 and has made a significant contribution to securing the future of the International Biology Olympiad by founding the international IBO Association and the IBO Seat in Kiel.

The annual selection competition for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO), the Biology Olympiad in Germany, is organized by the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN), Kiel, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and in cooperation with the Ministries of Education and Cultural Affairs.
